Avera published a new note about SENSITIVITY of UBCD160DN in the description of this scanner.
NOTE 4: SENSITITY (March 2025)
Some users complain about the sensitivity from UBCD160DN.
Please note that the sensitivity of UBCD160DN is the same as for UBC125XLT and UBCD3600XLT !
The UBCD160DN is a wideband portable receiver, designed primarily for portable use with the supplied antenna. Connecting an external antenna has the risk of overloading the receiver, due to strong signals in your area.
(In The Netherlands this happens when receiving , for example, strong P2000 signals on 169 MHz , while using an external antenna)
Here are a few general tips:
* Use the built-in attenuator option. You can set the attenuator per memory channel or you can use the global attenuator option.
* Use NFM reception mode instead of FM mode. You can program the reception mode per memory channel.
* When programming digital frequencies make sure to program the correct frequency (for example dPMR program 446.1031 MHz and not 446.1050 MHz). A deviation of a few kHz can already result in distorted reception. The Uniden UBCD160DN supports 3.125 kHz and 6.25 kHz steps specially for digital channels like dPMR frequencies.

- Attenuator gebruiken.
- Goed programmeren, NFM, Digital aangeven indien bekend.
