Was anyone listening in on RAMSTEIN FLAG NORTH 2026 in Norway, Sweden or Finland, the last few weeks ? and Do we have readers from Norway, Sweden or Finland ?
My QTH is in the suburbs of Copenhagen, so to far away to hear anything, apart from tankers passing Denmark on there way North. BUT During the 14-15-16 of June, I used my AIRSPY SDR# Studio program to access a Airspy One SDR in the western part of Finland near Kempele, just south of Oulu (if you go on google maps and search for Oulu, Finland you can see how far up north it is), but it looked like a lot of others used the same SDR, so it was nearly impossible to do a scan of 225-400 MHz and it could hang for hours, it was set up to have a 4,800 MHz and most of the time it was only possible to listen to frequencies in a 4,800 MHz range, so I had to pick a range and stick with that, until it was possible to move again.
So it was very difficult to discover new freq, but this is my little report of what I collected during these 3 days.
As in RAFL25 the used color coding of channels, the only one I was able the catch was BLACK 03 at 342.650, but they also talked about GREY 11 and 13, BROWN 01, PURPLE 07 and 08, and ORANGE 01
I only heard 3 ground stations "GUNMAN", "EAGLE" and "RANCHHAND":
"RANCHHAND" (US 19th EWS) on a single freq 255.900 talked with jets and "MAGIC" and "CYRANO"
"EAGLE" (Swedish CRC BÅLSTA) on 362.750 talked with jets checking-in, in the middel corridor = Sweden
"GUNMAN" (CRC No. 5, Lapland Air Command, Rovaniemi, Finland) sometimes they used a transmitter near Oulu, so I could hear both GUNMAN and the planes calling it..
AEW&C:
"MAGIC 72" (NATO22) often without the number and "CYRANO" (French) I saw on Flightradar24 that the Turkeys E737 "WISEMAN" was over Northen Norway, but it was to far away to hear.
Tankers (quite a few were up):
UK "MADRES 15" (MS15/RRR9910), NATO's "MULTI 10" and "MULTI 25", Spanish "BRONCO 12", US "QUID 55", Turkey's "ASENA 41/42", French "VAILLANT" (FAF4105) and "SKOLL 50" was a US Marine KC-130J, German A400 "LIFTER 26".
Fighters (was not able to get who they were, but looked like they changed the numbers every day)
ARROW 63, BISON 71/72 (Top Aces A-4), BLADE 31 , DARK 41(F‑16), DOOM 11, FLASH 71 (Top Aces A-4), FURY 23, GAMBIT 25, LOUDER 41, METAL 21, PHOENIX, REAPER 51, ROD 71, SIRI 11, VENOM 32
Others:
TECHNO 77 (German LJ35 from GFD), MANGA (RQ-4D Phoenix) this might also been using the call "PHOENIX" but not sure.
So these are the Frequencies I heard thru the Finnish SDR, if nothing is mentioned after the freq, it was too short to properly ID the use:
