's Avonds! Vorige week was ik in Devon Engeland en tot mijn verbazing ontving ik daar Shanwick Oceanic 2-way op 123.950 en 127.650. Wikipedia zegt dit:

The name Shanwick is a portmanteau of the two air traffic facilities jointly concerned with flights operating within this particular area of International Airspace. First, the Ballygirreen Radio Station, 10 kilometres (6 miles) North of Shannon Airport in County Clare, (near Limerick), Ireland, and the Prestwick Oceanic Area Control Centre (OACC) in Ayrshire, (near Glasgow), Scotland.

Kennelijk ontving ik een forward relay van 1 van beide stations, waarschijnlijk die bij Shannon?

Voor kortegolf radioverkeer maakt Shanwick Radio gebruik van een gescheiden zend- en ontvangststation, die slechts enkele kilometers van elkaar verwijderd liggen noord westelijk van de plaats  Shannon in Ierland. Of hier ook VHF zend/ontvangers staan heb ik niet zosnel bij de hand. Dat Shanwick Radio ook elders VHF zend/ontvangers heeft staan in Ierland en Engeland mag duidelijk zijn.
