Sinds 2003 heeft Peter Hunt ervoor gezorgd dat PDW is uitgebouwd tot het belangrijkste (gratis!) programma om POCSAG en FLEX te ontvangen. PDW heeft gebruikers wereldwijd, van radiohobbyisten tot professionele gebruikers. Verdere ontwikkeling van het programma werd niet verwacht: het is 'af'. Peter, bedankt voor al je inspanningen!
Werd niet verwacht? Ja, want er is besloten om PDW als open source-software aan te bieden. Hierdoor hebben anderen de gelegenheid om extra functionaliteit aan PDW toe te voegen, of om bijvoorbeeld een Linux-versie te ontwikkelen.
Ik heb van Peter de broncode van PDW ontvangen. Deze zal binnenkort online komen. Ik houd je hiervan op de hoogte.

Zag het al bij René op Twitter, erg mooi dat PDW openbaar is geworden, kan ik een aantal dingen voor mezelf aanpassen :-)

Dankje Rene, toen ik later nogmaals op Github keek zag ik het ook wel staan, zal het wel gemist hebben.
Wel handig dat VC++ 6 nog in MSDN zit, meteen maar even gedownload, want met VS2012 maak ik niet echt vrienden zo :-)

Jammer dat ik ooit de verkeerde opleiding heb gekozen....
Ik heb ooit aan Peter gevraagd om een PDW zo te maken dat het ook AIS zou kunnen uitlezen, maar helaas ontbrak ons beide de kennis hiervoor.
Mocht iemand dat wel hebben; ik houd me aanbevolen! ;)

Wie op dit forum heeft PDW inmiddels draaiend in de eigen programmeeromgeving? Ik programmeerde altijd in VC++ 6 maar sinds ik met p2kflex bezig ben heb ik een andere PC met daarop Visual Studio en krijg het C++ project hier niet in geladen. Heeft iemand dit wel voor elkaar, moet ik bepaalde dingen aanpassen?

Ik heb versie 3.12 van 28 juli 2013 via GitHub gedownload. Daarna CMake erop losgelaten. Het compileert vervolgens netjes in Visual Studio Express 2012.

Bedankt, maar ik heb wat hulp nodig van iemand die mij kan helpen het te laden in Visual Studio. Dat leidde ik niet direct af uit jouw verwijzing, maar als je dat wel kunt; graag. Ik heb uiteraard zelf al van alles geprobeerd en heb nu echt een hulplijn nodig om het weer aan de praat te krijgen. Dus geen kant-en-klaar werkend pakket, maar mijn eigen PDW (met daarin uiteraard eigen functies, etc) weer UAR te krijgen.

Helaas, ook met jouw project krijg ik bergen foutmeldingen, onder andere door paden die niet kloppen (rene\desktop\etc). Ook als ik dat allemaal aanpas blijft het fouten regenen. Hier was ik al bang voor en ben dus nog steeds op zoek naar iemand die mij op weg kan helpen om (remote) eea recht te trappen.

Hoe ik het heb gedaan met PDW:
- cmake 2.8.11 geïnstalleerd
- Visual Studio 2012 Express geïnstalleerd
- Vervolgens in cmake de sourcedirectory en de uitvoerdirectory ingegeven (bij mij zijn dat beide E:/.../pdw, dan 'Generate'.
- Tenslotte in Visual Studio de gegenereerde pdw.vcxproj-file geopend en 'Build Solution' gekozen.

Alleen die eerste is een echte foutmelding. De rest zijn voornamelijk waarschuwingen als je bijvoorbeeld een int (-32767..32768) met een unsigned int (0..65536) vergelijkt.
In mijn versie van flex.cpp wordt in regel 897 speed als int gedeclareerd:

Als je de eerste wijziging na jouw (openbare) versie 3.1 bekijkt op Github (https://github.com/Discriminator/PDW/commit/685f5610998294b67bcb69bee426456d40615dac) zie je dat er behalve de cmake-files een paar wijzigingen in de sourcefiles zijn gemaakt. Helpt dat je verder?

Afgelopen week n.a.v. een notificatie kort gecomment op een issue, dus die staat nu al een aantal dagen in m'n overzicht op Github. Zodoende de vraag, is er nog activiteit (te verwachten) op deze repository, of is het enkel om de source ergens openbaar te hebben staan? Er staat o.a. een PR al een tijdje open zonder review/merge: https://github.com/Discriminator/PDW/pull/8

Gezien het gebrek aan activiteit rond de ontwikkeling van PDW kijk ik maar af en toe op GitHub. Ik heb in ieder geval dit pull request gemerged. Verder lijkt er weinig te gebeuren.

Begrijpelijk, maar an sich accepteer je wel PR’s dus. Goed om te horen. Ping je wel op het forum anders als er iets blijft hangen ;)

Ik zie zo gauw de topic over PDW naar android niet meer.
Volgende tip over de source code overzetten en als dat de bedoeling is.

Dan is de sourcecode verkrijgbaar, waarmee het dus OpenSource is.
Maar ........ afhankelijk van de licentie-voorwaarden kunnen er vele restricties op rusten.
Aanpassen voor eigen gebruik is (bijna) altijd toegestaan, maar verder distribueren niet.
Alles dat geschreven is (muziek, boeken, gedicht, software, enz.) heeft automatisch copyright (auteursrecht) en mag niet worden aangepast, zonder toestemming van de rechthebbende.
Een uitzondering zijn dingen die door overheden zijn geschreven, die moeten juist wel aangeven dat er rechten op rusten, anders is het "vrij". (in Nederland)
Er zijn voor OpenSource ongeveer 120 soorten licenties, van de Mozilla licentie, tot aan de BSD licentie.
Hiervan worden er ongeveer 16 veel gebruikt, maar het staat iedere maker vrij, om zijn eigen versie te schrijven (waar dan ook weer automatisch auteursrechten op staan). ???

Zeker, ik verbaasde me meer over de vrij 'lompe' manier van binnenkomen. Die opmerking over herschrijven heeft hij later toegevoegd.
